How to Equip the Kitchen of Change
This may be one of the things you ask me most when you decide to change your diet (and with it, your life): What tools do I need?
Your kitchen is gradually adapting to your change and you begin to use utensils in a different way or become interested in others that can make your life even easier.
That’s why I want to talk to you about the kitchen tools I use regularly. It doesn’t mean that the rest aren’t good, but I can only talk in-depth about the ones I use.
Powerful blender
We use the blender to blend liquids, and foods with a large amount of water or broth, never dry foods. This is the most important thing, without a doubt, to keep your blender in good condition.
It is also recommended that it has more than 900w and that it does not heat the food.
If you are as fond of textures as I am of not finding lumps 🙂 , the blender will be your best ally and will show you a world of ice creams, creams, mand ilkshakes that you will not want to go back from. Gazpachos are so good and you can blend the batters for your favorite cakes.
If you have a Thermomix, perfect, it will work as a mixer and a processor.
I use Vitamix and I’m really happy with it. I’m crazy about textures and there’s no texture like the one you get with Vitamix.
Pots and pans
Having a good frying pan is essential to cook food to the desired perfection and prevent it from sticking. When choosing a frying pan, looking for one that is free of toxins prevents us from ingesting heavy metals with our food.
I use two brands: Woll and Skk. They are both very similar and I’m really happy with them. The only difference is that you can remove the handle on the Woll ones to put them in the oven.
I have a small one, the crepe maker, a medium one with a bottom (this is also great for making stews), and a very large one. I also use a medium-sized pot from Skk and a large ceramic one from Emilie Henry.
Processor
The one indicated for mixing dry foods. Ideal for obtaining flour, making our own energy bars, cake bases, nut butters, and nougat… and it also usually comes with accessories that allow us to chop vegetables in two seconds. I love this machine, but it has to be powerful. If it doesn’t have much power, there will be many things you can’t do.
I have had the Bosch 1250w for years and I have no complaints, the best quality/price ratio I have found.
Cold press extractor
This is a different machine from a conventional blender, although it can also be used to make fruit and vegetable juices and vegetable milk The difference is that cold pressing at very low revolutions keeps the nutrients of the fruit intact,t he juice does not disintegrate once squeezed and it lasts up to 72 hours in the refrigerator kitchen.
Personal blender
This utensil, with Ivan’s permission, is probably the love of my life. It is a tool that, although it is not essential, I love it and use it a lot. To make smoothies, sauces, patés, vinaigrettes, grind seeds, spices… It is ideal for when you do not want to prepare large quantities, since you would not be able to blend them well in the blender or food processor kitchen.
It is not essential by any means, but once you have it you cannot live without it.
I use Nutribullet, which in addition to having 900W of power, is free of bisphenol A.
Mandolin
It allows you to cut vegetables very finely and quickly. It doesn’t take up any space and you can find it at a very good price. So practical that, once you get used to it, it’s hard to live without it . Ieal for carpaccio, salads, vegetables for kitchen omeleomeletsou can find them at Conasi, in supermarkets, specialized stores, or on the Internet.
Spirals
This is the famous vegetable spaghetti make . It has been my favorite for a long time because it allows me to make super light and delicious pasta. Eating vegetables and believing that you are eating pasta is the best, don’t you think? Children love it, both making it and eating it.
Although you already know that you can also get it with a vegetable peeler (they will come out wider but just as tasty), you can find it at Conasi. kitchen
Steamer
It will help you steam food, one of the healthiest cooking methods that exist since it allows food to retain all its nutrients. There are models that range from the simplest (the typical bamboo one), to some made of glass, sand tainless steel… to the most sophisticated ones, like a vitalizer, which is basically a steam oven. kitchen
I have the Codis Verd vitalizer, which fits a lot of vegetables and you can use it as an oven. I even make cakes! And they turn out good.
Knives
If you don’t have a good knife and it’s not sharp enough, everything will be a little more complicated.
I use an Arcos knife every day, which is my super favorite, and this Zwilling kit.
You can find so many different ranges, brands, qualities, and prices that it will be difficult not to find the knife that best suits you. Look for it! And make sure you have a sharpener at kitchen hom .
I also wanted to tell you about a brand that I don’t use regularly yet, but it’s very good! One of the best on the market. Pieces made of titanium and surgical steel. Here is a post from my friend Eva with more information.
I know there are a lot of references, but don’t worry. I have been acquiring all these utensils little by little, a kitchen doesn’t change suddenly. The important thing is to establish priorities and respect them and in a few years you will have a fully equipped kitchen
