If you follow me on social media, you’ll know I had a cold last week. It all started on a random Saturday when I woke up not feeling very well… At that moment, I pulled out my anti-cold artillery (I’ll tell you all about it below) and in less than 24 hours I was already feeling great.
The truth is that it was like… Wow, how cool!!!
Since I rarely get sick, I thought it had been a minor alarm, but I immediately stopped it and was saved.
Monday came and I, super motivated, got up, put on my leggings, and went to the gym. Since I felt great, I put a lot of effort into starting the week off right. But, MISTAKE!!!
I didn’t allow my body to recover from that “mini alarm” and I didn’t give it the rest it needed to recharge itself. So it was the body that stopped me: I fell at night and much harder than at the beginning.
I gave my body a lot more pain than it needed and he, who is very smart, told me: Lucia, don’t worry if you don’t know how to stop yourself, I’ll stop you.
And that’s how I fell headlong into the cold, and although I did have a bad feeling in my body, cough, and snot, I handled it very well with natural remedies.
REST
Because of all this I have told you, one of the first pieces of advice I am going to give you is that if you feel unwell you should rest. This way you help your body and do not exhaust the defenses you have left.
It seems like a very basic thing. But the truth is that it costs us a lot to give our body the rest it needs.
These winter days, if you don’t feel well, the longer you stay warm at home, the better.
DEFENSES
You need to boost your immune system to fight off the cold. One of the things that works best for this is echinacea, which you can take as an infusion (it’s the least potent), in drops or capsules. It’s great for prevention!
RESPIRATORY TRACT
For all respiratory conditions, ravintsara essential oil is great. However, I recommend that when you buy essential oils, you look for quality ones, this is super important to ensure that they are safe to use.
When the atmosphere is stuffy at home or someone comes over who is feeling unwell, the first thing I do is put a few drops of Ravintsara in the diffuser. And when we have a cold or the flu, we keep it in the diffuser all the time. Including at night.
If you would like to take it directly orally, the recommendation is 2 drops 3 times a day on neutral support (honey, cane sugar, or vegetable oil).

SORE THROAT
Something sure to help your throat is a decoction of garlic and ginger. You will be amazed at how soothing it is for your throat and how good it feels!cold
To make it, you need:
- 1 liter of water
- 5 cloves of garlic, peeled
- About 10 cm of ginger
Put everything together in a saucepan over medium heat, and once it starts to boil, let it cook for about 15 minutes. Turn off the heat, let it cool a little,e and drink it warm. cold
Sore throat, hoarseness… BYE BYE!
MUSHROOM MIXTURE
Another thing I do when my defenses are a little low is to take the mushroom mixture. For me it’s magic!! What does it contain?: Cordyceps Sinensis, Maitake, Chaga Mushroom, Reishi, Shiitake, Mangosteen, and Acerola .cold
Its active ingredients have an immunomodulatory action and anticancer effects, with the ability to stimulate the immune system without overactivating it. Great diversity in minerals and trace elements. cold
Come on, it’s pure gold… But… Yes yes, it has a BIG But: They are in powder form and they don’t taste good at all.
And as you know, I am not capable of drinking anything bad, so here I take out my resources and make a delicious drink with them. And of course, I am going to share it with you so that you can enjoy raising your defenses:
- 1 glass of vegetable milk (coconut, gluten-free oats, etc.)
- 1 tablespoon of pure cocoa or carob
- 1 tablespoon nut butter (I use hazelnut butter) (link)
- 2 dates
- 1 teaspoon mushroom mix (can also be just chaga, reishi, etc…)
In a pot over medium heat, place the plant-based milk, pitted date, and cocoa until warm. Then put the mixture in a blender and add the mushrooms and butter. Blend everything until smooth. And enjoy!
